Paige places 6th in the Nation in Prose Interp!
NFL NATIONALS - BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, June 16-22, 2013 - Recently graduated senior,
Paige LaNasa, had a mulit-award winning 3-year career on the CHS Speech & Debate Team. She won several trophies each year in both partner and individual events, often first place trophies, including the first "Top Interper" award for CHS and others to follow. She consistently contributed to the Team's sweepstakes trophies, made it to UIL Regionals in Prose, she was a top four District NFL point leader, an NFL Academic All American, was the State Champion in Oratory her junior year, and qualified for the State and National Tournaments all three years she was on the Team. She was the first person from CHS to double qualify for Nationals, and the first person to double qualify two years in a row. She was on the first public forum team to qualify for Nationals in a Debate event her sophomore year, and is now the first person to make it to the FINAL ROUND at the National Tournament. Paige went to Nationals this year in Humorous Interpretation, but after entering Prose, she placed FIRST in rounds 1-6, moving her into the top six finalists, and ultimately was awarded 6th in Prose on the big stage at nationals. We wish Paige all the best of luck and success as she ventures off to college, and we will always remember the example she set and the dedication she showed to the success and growth of the Centennial Speech & Debate Team.
