CONGRATULATIONS to GARY!! 2016 UIL State Championships SILVER MEDALIST in Informative Extemporaneous Speaking! We traveled to UT Austin May 23-25, 2016 for the UIL State Tournament, hoping for a finals repeat from last year, and were excited to bring home the 5A
Conference 2nd place SILVER medal. Great job, and best of luck for your next two years, Gary!

Two members of the Team qualified for the UIL Regional Meet in Nacogdoches, TX on April 22-23, 2016. CONGRATULATIONS to LUCAS (prose interpretation) and to GARY (informative extemporaneous speaking), who also won the Bronze Medal in INX, and went on to qualify for the STATE TOURNAMENT in May - Best of luck to Gary!! Represent!
CONGRATULATIONS to the TITAN SPEECH TEAM for winning 2nd place Overall Speech Team Sweepstakes at the UIL District Tournament at Lonestar HS on April 1-2, 2016! And to the 2016 UIL Regional Qualifiers! GARY (Informative Extemporaneous Speaking) and LUCAS (Prose Interpretation) will head to Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX on April 22-23, 2016 to compete at the Regional tournament, hoping for State qualification - GOOD LUCK!!
Congratulations also go to FINALISTS: NOOR (prose), ILMA (poetry, first alternate to Regionals), DEEKSHA (informative extemp), LAINA (poetry) and ALLY (LD Debate, first alternate to Regionals).
The Team competed at the NSDA Congressional Debate Tournament on March 24, 2016, hoping to qualify for the National Tournament. CONGRATULATIONS to Finalists and Rankings in Top 20: GARY (6th place, Senate), ALLY (6th place, House1), RAHUL (15th place, House1), LILY (17th place, House1), DEEKSHA (19th place, House1), JEFF (9th place, House2), VEE (10th place House2), ARLINDA (15th place, House2), JOHN (11th place, Novice), KERAN (15th place, Novice). No qualifications, but amazing results this year!
State-qualified students competed at the TFA STATE tournament at Hendrickson HS in Pflugerville, TX, March 9-13, 2016. Students and Coach gave up the second half of their Spring Break to head down to the competition, but it was well worth it, we had an amazing and successful trip! The Team represented Centennial very well- CONGRATULATIONS to ALLY and DEEKSHA, who were chosen to represent CHS on the State Executive Honor Crew, VEE (quarter-finals in Poetry), GARY (semi-finals in Informative Speaking) and PRACHI (Congressional Senate finalist)! Congratulations to the Team for another great TFA season!
Invited members of the Individual Events Team competed at the NSDA Longhorn District National-Qualifying Debate tournament at Plano Sr. HS, February 26-27, 2016. Students did an AMAZING job, especially in the NEW PILOT events, Program Oral Interpretation (POI) and Informative Speaking (INF). CONGRATULATIONS to ILMA (first alternate to Nationals in POI), GARY (2nd alternate to Nationals in U.S. Extemp), LUCAS (second alternate to Nationals in POI), LILY (first alternate to Nationals in INF) and DEEKSHA (2nd alternate to Nationals in INF)! BEST OF LUCK at the Congressional Debate portion of the tournament on March 24!
Invited members of the Debate Team competed at the NSDA Longhorn District National-Qualifying Debate tournament at Colleyville HS, February 19-20, 2016. Students did a wonderful job and won several rounds against very tough competition, but were not able to send a Titan Debater to Nationals in the Debate events this year. BEST OF LUCK at the IE portion of the tournament next weekend!
The Team competed at our FINAL TFA tournament of the year, at the Flower Mound HS Swing Tournament, January 29-30, 2016. CONGRATULATIONS to Octo-finalists ALLY & PRACHI and CONNOR & CHRIS in Public Forum Debate, semi-finalists BRIAN (US Extemp), and Special CONGRATULATIONS to GARY for placing 2nd in Congressional Debate, and BEST OF LUCK at State in March!!
The Team competed at the Richardson HS tournament on Saturday, January 23, 2016, and won our first SWEEPSTAKES award of the year, taking 3rd overall!

And special CONGRATULATIONS to our FINALISTS and AWARD WINNERS - MALIK (6th place Foreign Extemp), PETER (6th place Congress), DANIEL G & DONOVAN (6th place Duet), LUCAS (6th place Prose), ILMA (5th place Oratory), BRIAN (5th place US Extemp), ALLY (4th place US Extemp), PRACHI (2nd place Oratory), and GARY (1st place Congress).
The Team competed at the Coppell HS Tournament on January 8-9, 2016, and our first tournament of the new year started off with awards! CONGRATULATIONS to JEFF & BRIAN, who took 3rd place in novice Public Forum Debate, as well as 2nd and 3rd place Speaker Awards! And to GARY, who placed 4th in U.S. Extemp - starting off the year right, GO TEAM!!
A portion of the Team competed at the Creekview HS tournament on December 5, 2015 (our annual "red shirt day"), and although we had a smaller Team, we had our most successful results of the season, including our FIRST qualifier of the year for the NIETOC in May - CONGRATULATIONS to CHRISSY in Humorous Interp! And our FIRST State qualifier of the year- CONGRATULATIONS to GARY who is now DOUBLE QUALIFIED in Congress & US Extemp!

The Team competed at Southlake Carroll on November 20-21, 2015, just before a well-deserved Fall Break week! Congratulations to our Octo finalist ARLINDA (LD Debate), CHRIS & EMMA (PF Debate), RAHUL & JENNY (PF Debate), Semi-finalists, ALLY, GARY, ARLINDA, MALIK (Extemp), MEGAN & SEAN (Duet and Duo), and HELENA & KACI (Duo). CONGRATULATIONS to our AWARD WINNERS: DANIEL G (6th place in Impromptu), BRIDGETTE (Top Speaker in Public Forum Debate), DONOVAN (5th place in Humorous Interp +2TFA) and CHRISSY (3rd place Humorous Interp +4TFA)
The Team competed at the Hockaday School tournament on November 13-14, 2015, and received more TFA State points, more NSDA points, as well more NIETOC bids! We had several novice Debaters competing in their first Varsity Debate events, and their records were spectacular! We are so proud of their hard work, professionalism, work ethic and tenacity. We can't wait to see what else they will accomplish this year, and for years to come.

A rainy CHS Homecoming Weekend, thanks to Hurricane Patricia - but a small portion of our Team attended the Plano West Sr. High tournament on October 23-24, and came away with amazing results, including more TFA State points and our first NIETOC bid in Duo Interp!

Over half of our Team, 38 members, attended the Newman Smith tournament on September 25-26, came away with amazing results, including our first TFA State points, nearly winning their first Team award and almost closing out novice Public Forum!

CONGRATULATIONS on surviving the first tournament of the season, and welcome to #TeamReboot2015!! The Team competed, and/or observed rounds, at Plano Sr. High on Saturday, September 5, 2015, and send a shout out to new Interpers, Daniel G & Katie W for breaking to Prose semis, and to Megan for breaking to Poetry semis! Hope everyone who came to watch rounds learned a ton, and are pumped and ready to go next time!
Our Annual summer Tournament Prep Clinics were held on July 13-17, August 1st and August 15th. We welcomed our returning Team members, met our new Team members, learned and worked on events, Interpers read plays and performed pieces for us, and Debaters analyzed some of the Debate resolutions on the list of choices for the new competition season. It is a testament to an AMAZING upcoming year that our students gave up part of their summer to attend our clinics and commit to their events and to our Team! Best of luck for a terrific and successful year!!
